Anne
is a portrait and figurative artist who returned to the Philadelphia
area after living and working in England for over 40 years.
She spent seven years training – first at Pratt Institute,
Brooklyn, and continued her education in both Cambridge and
London, England. She now works mainly in oil and pastel.
Her works hang in numerous homes and institutions both sides of the Atlantic – among
them, Birkbeck College (University of London), Sony Studios in London's West
End, and both Montgomery School and Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
In
recent years Anne's extensive body of work has included more
than 20 portraits specially commissioned by the Royal Society
of Portrait Painters – one of the most prestigious and
discerning organisations for portraiture in the world.
Work
publicly exhibited includes paintings at the Pastel Society UK
(2001/2/4/5/6/7/12), the Royal Society of Portrait Painters
(2003/5/6), the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (2007) in London's
Mall Gallery, the Pastel Society of America in the National
Arts Club, New York (2012) and the Butler Institute of American Art, Ohio (2013).
Anne
invites commissions from institutions and individuals worldwide and now also teaches painting and portraiture in the Philadelphia
area where she runs classes in Portraiture, Figure, Still Life and Contemporary painting.
She
returns regularly to the UK for existing and new clients and
despite being a busy artist also finds time for private tuition. |
